First of all, thank you to a couple of you for the heads-up that Mélanie is on the list of expected guests at TIFF — very good news! She also has her first bit of English press in a while in the September issue of InStyle magazine. The article is very short, but the photos are both brand new and lovely. Along with those scans, I’ve also added several older features donated by Marine and her friend Élodie. Take a look!

Thanks so much to the always generous Marine for these scans! Mélanie had a feature in the latest edition of Elle France, her second in only a few months. There’s an interview where Mélanie talks about her best memories from Cannes over the years, plus several beautiful new black-and-white photos.

Hello, all! Thanks to Marine, we now have proper scans of two gorgeous spreads of Mélanie from recent months. The first is her feature in Madame Figaro in February, and the second is her feature in March’s Elle France. The pictures are lovely, but the interviews are also good reads, so be sure to check them out! As a sidenote, I apologize for the addition of tags to scans, but people reposting scans made for this site and claiming them as their own has been an ongoing problem. I know it isn’t fair to everyone else, but hopefully they’re unobtrusive enough.

Also, the Nuit des Molières theater awards were held tonight, and unfortunately Mélanie did NOT win for her role in “Promenade de Santé.” However, she did attend the ceremony, so I’m hoping we’ll have pictures for you tomorrow! Keep checking back.

Mélanie is the model for a feature on fashion house Balenciaga in the spring issue of i-D magazine! The article isn’t about her, but designer Nicolas Ghesquière had a few kind words for Mélanie nevertheless. You can see scans below, thanks to The Fashion Spot member fearless123, as well a quote! This might explain why she chose Balenciaga alone to attend during fashion week!

But it was Mélanie Laurent he turned to when approached as to who should model in this Balenciaga special. “Mélanie is an actress who is on her way, I trust that she will go on to do some great and powerful roles,” says Ghesquière. “I saw an interview with her on TV one day when she was so funny, completely hyperactive and crazy but in a good way, she wanted to dance, she wanted to sing, I appreciate that, her honesty, she doesn’t have to hide or pretend. I thought to myself, ‘this one is so much fun!’”

Hello, all! Here are scans of Mélanie in Femina magazine, where she is photographed alongside “La Rafle” co-star Gad Elmaleh. There are two photo pages and two pages of interview, where they talk about the film. Many thanks (again!) to Marine for these scans, without whom our magazines section would be a pretty sad sight!

Another quick magazine update! Now in the gallery are scans of Madame Figaro October 2007, Madame Figaro August 2009, and two features from L’Officiel dated 2004 and September 2009. Thanks again to Marine for these! We have scans of Mélanie’s feature in L’Express Styles. The pictures are (as predicted!) lovely, but the interview is an interesting read, too — she reveals the shooting of her feature-length film has been pushed back to October and that she would like Isabelle Adjani to play the role of her mother in it, as well as talking more generally about her past year, the “new Mélanie”, and, interestingly, the icier reception her performance as Shosanna received in her native France.
