In an interview with designer Maxime Simoëns, he spoke briefly of Mélanie. He doesn’t say much, but I thought it was a cute story — he wanted to meet her for a long time, but her agent always said no, and then one day they met randomly at the gym. She went to his show back in January, but unfortunately not the one this past week!

Vous avez l’air de bien vous entendre, comment vous êtes-vous rencontrés ?
En fait, je voulais la rencontrer depuis longtemps, j’avais demandé à son agent si cela l’intéresserait de porter mes créations. Mais il m’a toujours répondu “Non ça ne l’intéresse pas”. Puis un jour je l’ai vue dans ma salle de sport, et j’y suis allé au culot, mais gentiment hein ! Et elle m’a dit qu’elle voulait bien voir ce que je faisais. On est allé boire un verre et elle a beaucoup aimé ce que je faisais. Elle a porté une de mes robes au Sidaction, où elle m’a d’ailleurs invité !

On top of her Cannes gig, Mélanie has landed another high-profile honor! She is going to be the face of a Christian Dior perfume. No word yet on what the name of it will be, or when the campaign will be launched, but very exciting news nevertheless! To my knowledge, this will be the first modelling Mélanie has done.

No fancy graphic to celebrate, unfortunately, but today is Mélanie’s 27 birthday! We hope it’s a good one and that 27 treats her even better than 26 did.

I feel like such a terrible webmisstress as of late, and I apologize up and down for the lack of updates here. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to, because trust me, I have. But, as of August, I went through something very, very traumatizing and I wasn’t able to resume to normalcy until recently. I’ve still followed Mélanie’s career from behind the scenes, and am still very much a huge fan of hers. I cannot make promises, and assure those remaining visitors that this site will be updated as frequently as before, but I will definitely try my best. I have started school again after 4 years of always promising I would, and my schedule is a tad tight these days. Please do feel free to keep me updated on anything YOU may know, though, so I can update the fansite to my best ability. Again, I am very sorry for not keeping up with this site, and I will do my best to get us back up to date.

Promised soon though, is screencaptures from La Chambre des Morts, which have been on my computer for quite some time now.

It’s strange to think 2008 is already here, as 2007 just seemed like it started only months ago. Through the past year, Mélanie has done so much and made her mark in so many films. She also signed onto many roles, which promises to make 2008 a very exciting year for more and more Mélanie movies! So, where are these movies and what is their progess? I’m sure some of you are wondering when they’ll be released. So, as a refreshment in the beginning of the year, here is a quick brush up on the 2008 projects and what we know thus far..

Paris: We saw the release of a trailer very late 2007, officially announcing that it would make it’s debut on the big screen 20 February 2008 in France. Residents of Belgium will have to wait until 27 February 2008 for this movie to hit theatres. No word yet on whether or not North America will be receiving Paris in theatres just yet.

Le Tueur: Again, we received a very late 2007 trailer from this exciting triller. Stills and more media goodies are surfacing, as the official theatre release is just days away. Expect to see this movie in theatres 9 January 2008 (France) and 16 January 2008 (Belgium).

Cendrillon: There is very limited information, as of right now on this French tale about the famous Disney princess, Cinderella. We do hope to see a mid 2008 release, but no word yet on whether that is set to happen. It is currently still under post-production.

Shoe at Your Foot: Mélanie and cast are still busy at work filming this film. Surprisingly, we’ve already received the very first still from this film, and hopefully more will pop up in due time! Filming in Canada has been rumored to have wrapped up already.

La Chambre des Morts: This thriller is still very much and theatres, but will be making a debut soon in Belgium on 9 January 2008.

L’amour Caché: We’re still not receiving much news about this film. So far, it has only premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September.
