Hi, everyone! Updates have been slow and will continue to be through the next month because I have been quite busy lately. I may update the site if I’m feeling inspired and there’s a particularly eye-catching bit of news, but other than that I’ll be playing catch-up once my semester of school ends in December. All current content will still be available for you to browse. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Apologies if you have already seen this on multiple sites.

Doubtlessly some of you have already noticed, but Merveilleuse Mélanie Laurent is sporting a brand new gallery layout! A big thank you to the very talented Hilary, who also designed the main page, both for the lovely design and her patience with my persnicketiness. Take a look!

It’d been a while with the old one, but Merveilleuse Mélanie Laurent has a new layout! It was designed by the very talented Hilary — big thanks to her. I hope you all like it. A new gallery layout will be coming soon too!

We’ve received a number of reports of people being unable to access the gallery because it says they have been banned. I have not banned anyone manually, so something is going awry with the system — I know that if you make a certain number of unsuccesful log-in attempts, it will temporarily ban you, but this problem seems to be otherwise unprovoked. I will look into it this weekend and see if there is a fix, or at the least what the specific triggers might be, but in the meantime rest assured it’s a technical glitch.

And we’re back again! Hopefully you barely noticed the downtime, but as compensation Merveilleuse Mélanie Laurent now has beautiful new layouts for both the main page and gallery, designed by the lovely Laura. I hope you like them!

We have a bunch of new magazine scans in the gallery today! Marine has been kind enough to donate Grazia (Oct. 2009), Muze (Sept.-Oct. 2009), and Studio Ciné Live (June 2009), all French language, while I’ve added scans from the September edition of Flaunt magazine — which is in English! Each picture below is a link to their individual album.

This is also a good time to segue into that project I’ve mentioned. It’s taken longer than expected and the French-language section is still very much under construction because of the sheer volume of available content, but Merveilleuse Mélanie Laurent now has a press library! I hope it’s a useful resource for fans who want to read up a little more on Mélanie than what’s available in our Information section. There are plenty of interviews, articles, and more. Out of the above, Flaunt has already been transcribed and added to the archive. Check it out and let us know what you think! There’s an article in French magazine Les Inrocks about/by Mélanie as part of their “best of 2009″ series.  She talks about her career highlights of 2009, most of which we already know about, but it’s interesting to hear about them in her own words. Notably she sounds cynical about the release of her debut musical album — however, I’m not sure if that means release is officially cancelled. Check it out!
