Long before “Inglourious Basterds” and even “Jusqu’à toi”, Mélanie had an English-speaking role in the Singaporean film “Rice Rhapsody.” It wasn’t a huge part — and the film wasn’t that great — but it isn’t so easy to find, and I’ve added DVD screencaptures of it to the gallery!

The film isn’t due to be released until April 2011, but a couple short behind-the-scenes videos from “Requiem pour une tueuse” have hit the internet. The film was previously known as “Un Requiem pour un tueur” and then “Un Requiem pour Mister Child”, so hopefully this is the final title change! I’ve made screencaptures which you can view in the gallery.

Though she hasn’t made an appearance at any of the shows yet, Mélanie attended the Vicini Cocktail Party as part of the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. I’ve added a few pictures to the gallery, check them out!

Wow! “Un Requiem pour Mister Child” has barely wrapped, and Mélanie has already booked another movie to film. It’s called “Et soudain, tout le monde me manque”, the second film of “Jusqu’à toi” director Jennifer Devoldère. So far, all we know is that Michel Blanc will be playing Mélanie’s father, Eli, and that Mélanie’s character is named Justine. The film will focus on the relationship between Eli and Justine after they receive the news that Suzanne, Eli’s fourth wife, is expecting — leaving Justine no longer the youngest child. It starts filming at the end of July through mid-September.

Hello, all! I’ve just added 500some screencaptures of Mélanie in her 2009 released, 2006 filmed movie “L’Amour caché,” where she stars alongside Isabelle Huppert. You can find a few short deleted scenes in the gallery as well.

Thanks so much to the always generous Marine for these scans! Mélanie had a feature in the latest edition of Elle France, her second in only a few months. There’s an interview where Mélanie talks about her best memories from Cannes over the years, plus several beautiful new black-and-white photos.

Last night, Mélanie came to Cannes specifically to attend the Dior Dinner, where her guest was her brother Mathieu. I’ve added over 60 pictures of the event to the gallery! You can see her new cut and color more easily here than at the Molières as well — what do you think?

As a sidenote, this downtime in Mélanie news seems a good time to point visitors towards some of our affiliates. Last year’s Cannes was Mélanie Laurent’s time in the spotlight, but there are other beautiful, talented French actresses enjoying a little limelight on the Croisette this year instead, including Mélanie Thierry, Roxane Mesquida, Léa Seydoux, Ludivine Sagnier, and Nora Arnezeder. Check them out!
